The Newbie [L1] training level is a trial to determine if the volunteer is a good fit for the tech role. We want all STEAM members to feel comfortable and confident in the tech roles that they perform. This [L1] training level helps us to be productive as a team, and to help us determine how best to invest our resources where they make the most impact. If there is a better fit elsewhere, we will help direct the newbie to another tech role.
The Newbie [L1] will start to learn the foundational topics required for the specified tech role. We will measure aptitude and habits required to perform well, and give clear descriptions of expectations. No technical background is required, but these qualities will ensure success: Newbies [L1] must show the ability to arrive early, follow instructions, stay focused, show attention to detail, and have a certain degree of independent study - starting with learning our System from this STEAM Training Hub.
- Learn our System on the STEAM Training Hub, and build relationships with STEAM Team & Worship Team.
- Learn the specific Tech Role (using this STEAM Training Hub and team interviews).
- Receives access to STEAM Coffee & Snack Bar when scheduled.
- Receives a STEAM Training Hub account and access to the training library.
