Security Technician (Role 9)

The STEAM [R9] Security Tech makes sure everything is openned up at the beginning of the event and torn down at the end, securely storing STEAM equipment for the next use. They must arrive early and wait for Facility to empty and then ensures everything is locked up. Usually performed by [R11] Tech Director plus one rotating assignee, as scheduled by the [R10s] Scheduling Manager on Planning Center.

Must show patience and ability to arrive early and leave late. Attention to detail will serve you well. The ability to follow written checklists and verbal direction is imperative. Of course a friendly demeanor and positive attitude is also required. Ultimately, we are looking for a servant heart and a love for others.

  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for performing and submitting all checklists assigned.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for making sure everyone at the venue feels welcome and not rushed.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for completing all open-up and setup items before others arrive.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for completing all teardown and cleanup items before leaving.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for double-checking that all tech & musical equipment is secured.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for turning all the power off throughout the relevant areas.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for ensuring the facility is closed, locked, and the alarm is set.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for training any volunteers being onboarded in this role.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is responsible for working with the [R11] Tech Director on relevant improvements.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to maintain accurate blockout dates in Planning Center.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to quickly accept or decline role assignments in Planning Center.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to arrive early and well-prepared for the service or event.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to show up looking professional with a non-distracting appearance.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to complete role setup before scheduled service or event begins.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to complete role teardown and cleanup before leaving.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to remain focused on role for the duration of service or event.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to leave phones, food, and drinks behind the safety tape line.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to attend any worship team and STEAM team gatherings.
  • The [R9] Security Tech is expected to invest in building relationships with team and congregants.
  • Tech Role Setup: 15 minutes

  • Tech Role Teardown: 25 minutes
  • Total Weekly Time Commitment: 1 hours, approx.
